Australian Timber Propeller Droop Pendant

Australian Timber Propeller Droop Pendant

SKU: DM752PL

PRICE: $1,404.00

Crafted in Hobart, this pendant is a sculptural masterpiece featuring eight gently curved Tasmanian eucalypt blades. Designed by Duncan Meerding, whose vision impairment informs a distinctive focus on light dispersion and tactile form, the pendant casts intricate shadows and shifting patterns as light filters through its layered structure.

Duncan shares: "The relationship between light and shadow and light dispersion are integral to my design process. Being legally blind with less than 5% of my sight remaining, the vision of light emanating from the peripheries of the different objects, reflect the alternative sensory world within which I design".

Merging organic shapes with industrial techniques, each pendant is produced in Tasmania using a combination of hand-driven and computer-aided processes. The eight blades slot into a custom-made aluminium bracket and are secured with discreet grub screws, then finished with a turned Tasmanian Blackwood nose cone cover cap.

Thoughtfully designed for ease of assembly, the pendant is delivered flat-packed to reduce shipping impact and environmental footprint. It arrives with a 2m black cloth cord, black ceiling rose, and an instruction sheet.
