Every shard that makes up the Cocoon Shard pendant is worked by hand in South Africa, no two ever quite the same, giving the finished piece a texture and variation that only handwork can give it. Clustered together, the shards curve inward and layer over one another, wrapping the light source the way a cocoon wraps around what's inside it, so the glow only just escapes through the gaps between each piece. The clay is worked by a community of women in KwaZulu-Natal, hand rolled, kiln fired, and finished piece by piece, each one carrying its own small imperfection.
Hung in a hallway, stairwell, or open living space, the layered shards catch light and shadow differently depending on the angle you view them from, turning into a true statement piece that draws the eye the moment you walk in. Available in two sizes, Medium or Large, it works as a true focal point, full and tall enough to anchor a room without needing anything else around it.
