WHAT IS SCANDINAVIAN STYLE?
Scandinavian Style
Scandinavian style is characterised by simplicity, minimalism and functionality with an emphasis on clean lines and simple furnishings that are functional, timeless and cozy.
Creating a Scandinavian inspired space is all about the philosophy of not too much, not too little: just right. This is characterised as a minimalistic style that uses a blend of warming textures and soft hues. Placing an emphasis on natural light, creating bright and airy open spaces. The style tends to see spaces with white walls and neutral colour pallets along with natural textures such as wood and stone. Modernist Scandinavian designs favoured timbers in teak, rosewood, birch and ash, but birch, maple, light oak and pine.
Soft furnishing will often be of natural fabrics with loose-weave textures such as linen and cotton. This style also doesn’t shy away from furs and chunky woven textures.
COLOURS & MATERIALS
Scandinavian homes are designed so that neutral and calm hues dominate the colour palette. There is often pops of accent colours incorporated such as, Forest Green, Burnt Orange, Pale blue, dusty pink and many different shades of grey.
We have created a Scandinavian collection that encompasses a carefully curated selection of fittings that exude the characteristics of quintessential Nordic designs. Exploring a mix of textures, shapes, and colour, this collection enhances a modern minimalistic approach through soft tonal colours, and sleek materials to create a versatile collection to compliment the Hygge in any space.
Hygge: is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment. It is about enjoying togetherness with the people who matter.
