Mid-century modern lighting often pairs warm metallics like aged brass with glass, particularly opal glass globes. Timbers such as teak and walnut, and moulded plywood, are also common. Together they give the mix of clean, geometric structure and soft, organic warmth the style is known for.

Sculptural pendant lights and chandeliers are the natural choice, especially in dining rooms, kitchens and open-plan spaces. Sputnik-style starbursts and minimalist brass-rod pendants suit these settings, as their floating look makes a strong centrepiece.
