The Contemporary Floating Disc Pendant Light introduces a refined balance of structure and light to modern interiors. Designed with a clean, circular shade, this suspended fixture creates a strong graphic accent that appears to float weightlessly in space. Its dual-finish shade pairs a matte black aluminium exterior with a smooth, matte white aluminium interior, reflecting light downward with clarity and warmth.

Thoughtfully scaled to suit a range of spaces, this pendant works equally well above a kitchen island or dining table, or beside the bed as an accent light for a more intimate feel. Designed and made in Italy, it forms an elegant focal point that adapts easily to different zones of the home.

  • Sculptural disc profile creates a weightless, floating effect overhead
  • Matte black aluminium exterior with a matte white interior for a sleek, minimal finish
  • Provides targeted illumination with a soft, downward glow
  • Suited to dining areas, kitchen islands, and bedside accent lighting
  • Complements contemporary and minimalist interior styles

2026 Lighting Trends & Expert Buying Tips

n 2026, lighting has evolved beyond pure function to become the defining "jewellery" of the home — with tactility, sculptural form, and emotional well-being at the forefront of design thinking. Our expert team's 2026 Lighting Buyers Guide covers the key trends, materials, and technical considerations to help you make confident choices for every room.

This year's dominant aesthetic is "Functional Art" — pieces that serve as striking focal points even when switched off. Standout movements include hand-blown organic glassware with wabi-sabi imperfections, a Mid-Century Modern revival with living brass finishes, bold Brutalist forms, and a growing celebration of local Australian design. Leading materials include aged brass, natural fibres like rattan, and translucent alabaster and stone.

Room by room, the guide recommends a layered lighting approach, with expert advice spanning kitchen linears, bedroom warmth, exterior accent lighting, and the technical essentials — smart integration, CRI ratings, and flexible track systems.
